Clarendon, VT

Clarendon: While the AT doesn’t actually run through Clarendon, the trail crosses VT Rte. 103 just a short distance from the Clarendon-Shrewsbury town line. Clarendon is home to Rutland-Southern Vermont Regional Airport which is served by Cape Air with direct flights to Boston and connections to the world!

Clarendon is a relatively large town just south of Rutland with US 7 being the main road running through the town. There is an inn, a campground and a couple of restaurants; and, for dog owners, there is a veterinarian and a couple of kennels. The most noteworthy natural feature is Clarendon Gorge.

Did you know? Clarendon Gorge is best viewed from a 30-foot long suspension bridge on the AT/LT.
