Kid Gore Shelter & Caughnawaga Tentsites

Shelter Description

Log lean-to built in 1971 by GMC and Camp Najerog alumni. Named in memory of Harold M. (“Kid”) Gore, who ran Camp Najerog. Maintained by GMC and USFS. Accommodates 8 at the shelter and 12 at the tentsites. Bear box. Privy. Water sources are a spring 30 feet north of shelter (unreliable) and a reliable brook north on the Trail in Glen Haven.
