Low & Burbank’s Grant, NH

Low and Burbank’s Grant: An unincorporated town with no permanent residents, Jefferson Notch Rd., leading from US Rte. 2 to the trailhead for Caps Ridge Trail, is the only road in the town.

The AT goes through Low & Burbank’s Grant from Thunderstorm Junction (with side trails to Mt. Sam Adams and Mt. Adams) to the summit of Mt. Madison. There are five trailside facilities located in town: Madison Spring Hut run by AMC and Log Cabin, Gray Knob, Crag Camp and The Perch maintained by Randolph Mountain Club.

Did you know? Originally built in 1888, Madison Spring Hut is the oldest hut site in the U.S.
