Pinkham’s Grant, NH

Pinkham’s Grant: On NH Rte. 16 between Jackson and Gorham, Pinkham’s Grant is home to AMC’s Pinkham Notch facility which provides lodging, meals, supplies and services to hikers. In addition, Wildcat Mountain Ski Area is located here.

The AT goes through the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center and then begins its climb of Wildcat Mountain on the east side of Rte. 16. In addition, AT access trailheads for Glen Boulder Trail, Direttissima, Tuckerman Ravine Trail and Crew Cut Trail are all located here.

Did you know? Because of its remoteness, Pinkham Notch was not discovered by European settlers until 1784 and it wasn’t settled until 1827. That was 43 years after the first settlements in Crawford Notch were established on the west side of Mt. Washington.
