Pittsford: While Pittsford is a good-sized town by Vermont standards, the fact that Rutland lies between it and the AT means that there aren’t any services here that you couldn’t find in Rutland. Despite that, Pittsford has a number of attractions that will interest hikers. Of particular interest will be the Pittsford Ice Caves and the trails in the Pittsford Trail Network.

In a state renowned for its covered bridges, Pittsford has a wealth of them. We have listed four that we were able to locate. In addition, the New England Maple Museum is located on US 7 as well as several other businesses.

Did you know? During the Revolutionary War, there were two forts, Fort Mott and Fort Vengeance, located in Pittsford.
