Searsburg, VT

Searsburg: While the AT does not go through Searsburg, the town is an important gateway for anyone wishing to access the trail in the Stratton Mountain area. This is done by following Somerset Rd. (USFS #71) from its intersection with VT Rte. 9. Searsburg has relatively few services, but it is where VT Rte. 8 and 9 intersect.

The entrance to and a good view of the Searsburg Wind Power Facility can be found on VT Rte. 8. Searsburg Dam is a prominent feature on Somerset Rd.

Did you know? In the 2000 presidential election, Libertarian candidate Harry Browne won Searsburg’s vote with 51% of the votes cast.
