Wallingford, VT

Wallingford: The AT runs through the middle of Wallingford, and crosses Sugar Hill Rd. and VT Rte. 140 here. The trailheads for Home Stone Brook Trail and Keewaydin Trail are also in this town. Most services are on US 7 which is two-and-a-half miles to the west of the VT Rte. 140 crossing. These include a couple of inns and restaurants and several convenience stores.

There are several stores near the intersection of US 7 and VT Rte. 140 creating a reasonably sized downtown. This is the largest collection of businesses between Manchester to the south and Rutland to the north.

Did you know? Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary International, was raised in Wallingford.
