Waterville Valley: The ski area and town are closely associated with each other. While there are a few attractions and services on the two roads leading to Waterville Valley, the vast majority are located near the base lodge for the ski area.
Waterville Valley is only accessible from the west via NH Rte. 149 or unpaved Tripoli Rd. As such, it is not on any “beaten path” to the AT. However, the variety of activities and services that are available here year-round make it a worthwhile place to visit.
Did you know? H.A. and Margret Rey, the authors of the Curious George series, summered in Waterville Valley. Their cottage is now the Rey Cultural Center.
