Woodford: The VT Rte. 9 crossing of the AT, the crossing in southern Vermont, is located in Woodford. In addition, four trailheads of access trails are also there. The VT Rte. 9 crossing has a large parking lot and a bus stop that provides access to either Bennington, to the west, or Wilmington, to the east. While Woodford, itself, has relatively limited services, there are two campgrounds with rental cabins, a restaurant, and a general store with a deli counter.

Woodford is home to Woodford State Park, which has camping, and Prospect Mountain Cross-Country Ski Center. The Ziontific Summer Solstice Music Festival is held at Prospect Mountain every year.

Did you know? Woodford’s town center is 2,215′ above sea level, the highest of any town in Vermont.
